May 2023 President's Message
We had a hybrid dinner meeting on April 25, featuring a facilitated roundtable discussion on Effective Stakeholder Communication. We had the best turnout in some time, but the restaurant threw another curve ball by seating other diners in a part of the supposedly private room we had reserved. The resulting background noise made it difficult for Zoom participants to hear the discussion. Partly for this reason, we will return to a fully virtual format this month. However, motivated by the success reported by other chapters, we also are going to move it to lunchtime. John Halberstadt, our VP of Professional Development, who is Director of Agile Consulting and Agile Coach and Trainer at Lithespeed, is going to talk about Writing Better User Stories. Our annual election of officers is coming up toward the end of this month. Because this is an odd-numbered year, we will be voting for President, President-Elect, VP Member Services, and VP Marketing. (We have to elect a President because we currently have no President-Elect, who would automatically become President.) We have great candidates for all but President-Elect; that is a problem we’ll have to deal with down the road. We will once again make use of PMI’s election system; that system will send email about voting to all chapter members later this month.
